I am struggling to get out of a dream of mangled bodies, blood everywhere, painful screams, napalm bursts with white phosphorus flying, dying soldiers and civilians. Finally awake I realize that I have to face another hot day stationed at China Beach at the 909th Evac. Hospital working in pre-op Emergency and trauma surgery. I think about my wife and two toddler boys safe at home in Cincinnati, Ohio with Grandma. How did I ever get here or in this situation.
